A New Dawn

Awakening to a New Consciousness

(Note: Unless otherwise stated, use of masculine pronouns are generic in nature, and refer to both male and female, in the same sense as in chapter one of Genesis: "On the sixth day, ... God created Man; male and female created He them.")

In the Christian Bible, Jesus said to the rabbis, who intended to stone him for blasphemy ("Thou art a man, but makest thyself God."), "Does not your Law say, I said, ye are gods? And if the Scripture cannot be broken, and I do what the Father sent me to do, where have I committed blasphemy?"

He was quoting the Psalmist: "I have said, Ye are gods, and ye are all children of the Most High. But ye will all die as men."

Given this, the question then arises, "If we are gods, why must we die as men?" And the answer begins with a simple observation: because we have not learned how to BE gods.

This, of course, leads to another question: "How do we learn to be gods?" Jesus gives us the beginning of the answer, thus: "If any man would follow me, let him first deny himself..."

But how can we deny ourselves, if we do not even KNOW ourselves? Do we know everything about ourselves? No, we do not. Then how can we COME to know ourselves? We must OBSERVE ourselves. We must observe our actions and inactions, our attitudes and biases, our habits, wants, desires and requirements. And to be true observers, we must be without judgment or condemnation. We must see what and how we are, and see what and how we must change, in order to even BEGIN to become god-men and god-women. We must be AWARE.

Yet we CAN'T be aware of ourselves. Why? Because we are "dead while yet we live." We're dead asleep! We must awaken, rise from the dead! How can we be gods if we're not even aware of ourselves enough to even deny ourselves?

We could all declare ourselves gods. But is it honest and truthful? My Teacher, Master David M.Berry, said, "Manifestation is the proof of Truth." So here's the proof of our claim of godhood: Can any do what Jesus did? Didn't he say that we would do what he did, and even greater? Can any of us feed the multitudes, with only a few loaves of bread and a couple fish? Can any of us heal someone just by touching them, or by them touching us? Can any of us calm the storm at sea and walk across the water? Can any of us raise the dead? Can any of us do ALL OF THESE, AND GREATER?

What, then, is your proof? What work have you done on yourself to be able to manifest God?

As for myself, I have just barely begun learning to heal ... myself! I'm learning also to accept and express the wisdom of my higher selves rather than questioning that inner authority. But I couldn't even do that much without some small degree of awareness! And I gained that by beginning to observe myself. Clearly, I have a long way to go, and I say this without judging or condemning, merely as an observation.

What about you?

The best way I have ever heard of express is " we are all part of god is experiencing its self".
