Absolutely right! I don't believe in taking the Bible literally; it is just a bunch of parables. However, from some of them do have good insight. I am reminded of the story of Adam and Eve which is usually misquoted. What it actually says is that they ate the fruit "from the tree of knowledge of good and evil". The moral being that when we start judging things as "good" or "evil", we are cast out of heaven [which is actually a mental state of peace and serenity]. When we are in "Hell" we are in a mental state of anxiety or discomfort. Heaven and Hell are not after we die but inside of ourselves where we experience the consequences of our own actions and our thoughts.
A great book can have a dull plane old cover so we tend not to judge a book by it's cover. People are not books, and when others judge you by your cover 9 times out of ten they are right.
There is an old saying "always dress to impress"
I suspect things shouldn't always be this way, but the reality is people will be people, some narrow minded some not.
